Abstract

To solve the problems of data acquiring and processing existing in traditional fault information system, this paper analyzes the research progress of fault information system, sums up operating experiences, and then proposes a novel online monitoring and analysis system for relay protections based on partition data acquisition. Four typical system structures are proposed for different types of substations or plants with regard to their pros and cons and ranges of application. An approach based on multi-source information is put forward to file fault information with smart alarm system to solve the problem of false alarm and alarm missing. Finally, a method is presented to find fault information on Web to help more users. Having come into service, this systems is proved supportive and amenable to the characteristics of smart substations and unattended substations, and sheds light on information integration and fault information system upgrade.
