Abstract

The advent of robotics in post-surgical rehabilitation has revolutionized patient recovery, introducing precision, adaptability, and personalized care to rehabilitation processes. This article delves into the evolving role of medical nurses in post-surgical robotics therapy, highlighting their integral contributions to patient care, therapy optimization, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Nurses serve as critical facilitators in the application of robotic technologies, bridging the gap between advanced tools and patient-centered care.

The integration of robotics into rehabilitation programs has enabled significant advancements, such as robotic exoskeletons, gait training systems, and sensor-based feedback tools. These technologies enhance mobility, strength, and functional recovery in patients undergoing post-surgical rehabilitation for conditions like joint replacements, neurological injuries, and cardiac procedures. Nurses play a vital role in patient assessment, education, and the customization of robotic therapy plans to meet individual needs. Their active involvement ensures the safe and effective use of these innovations, fostering positive outcomes.

To further empower nurses in this field, recommendations include integrating robotics training into nursing curricula, promoting interdisciplinary teamwork, and expanding access to robotic therapies in underserved areas. Case studies of nurse-led robotic therapy initiatives underscore the potential for these technologies to transform patient recovery and enhance the quality of life.
