A Novel Method for Locating Forced Oscillation Source in Mechanical Power Based on Power Spectral Density
Main Article Content
Abstract
Forced oscillation is a kind of low frequency oscillations mainly caused by continuous disturbance on generating unit's mechanical power. To solve forced oscillation, crucial problem is locating forced oscillation source accurately and removing it. In this paper, a method to locate oscillation source is proposed based on power spectral density (PSD). The relationship between the system output PSD and transfer function from assumed disturbance to system outputs is derived. The location of the oscillation source can be identified by testing whether the relationship holds true for each generator of a power system. Simulation results of a 10-machine 39-bus test system demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed method for forced oscillation source location.
