Teamwork in the Cath Lab: Ensuring Seamless Workflow between Technicians and Nurses
Main Article Content
Abstract
The catheterization (Cath) laboratory is a critical environment in healthcare where multidisciplinary teams work together to diagnose and treat various cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and structural heart problems. Successful patient outcomes depend on seamless teamwork between the medical professionals involved, particularly the technicians and nurses who play pivotal roles in the procedural process. This paper explores the importance of effective collaboration and communication between cath lab technicians and nurses. By examining the roles, challenges, and strategies for optimizing teamwork, this study highlights the benefits of a cohesive team approach in the cath lab for improving patient safety, enhancing operational efficiency, and achieving optimal clinical outcomes.
