Abstract

Asthma, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the airways, presents significant challenges across different age groups, from pediatric to geriatric populations. Effective asthma management requires a coordinated approach between healthcare professionals, particularly nurses and respiratory therapists (RTs). This article explores the collaborative roles of nurses and RTs in managing asthma, addressing age-specific needs, providing education, and ensuring comprehensive care for patients. By working together, these professionals improve asthma control, enhance quality of life, and reduce the burden of acute exacerbations. This article delves into the specific interventions and strategies employed by nurses and RTs in asthma management across all age groups, highlighting the importance of a team-based approach for optimizing patient outcomes.
