Comparison of the Fuzzy Logic Controller with IMC-PID Controller for First Order Process with Time Delay

Abstract
As the complexity of the process increases, there is a compromise among the set-point tracking and disturbance rejection when applied to internal model control (IMC). The fuzzy logic controller has its significance performance to solve the uncertainty and non-linear models from the past. In this paper, the fuzzy logic controller applied to the process with first-order and time delay (FOPTD). A comparative study was done based on the measurement of performance indices in servo and regulatory conditions. The robustness examination was analyzed by applying a perturbation in process gain for the two controllers simultaneously.
