Abstract

The homeless population faces unique healthcare challenges, including limited access to medical services, mental health care, and social support. Nurses and social workers collaborate to bridge these gaps, providing integrated care that addresses both the medical and psychosocial needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. This article explores the distinct and overlapping roles of these professionals, highlighting innovative strategies, barriers to effective care, and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. By combining their expertise, nurses and social workers can deliver holistic support that improves health outcomes, enhances quality of life, and fosters pathways out of homelessness.
