Abstract

The rapid emergence of novel infectious diseases presents a significant challenge to global public health. Early and accurate pathogen detection is crucial for controlling outbreaks, guiding treatment strategies, and preventing pandemics. Laboratory specialists play a pivotal role in identifying and characterizing infectious agents through traditional microbiological methods, molecular diagnostics, and advanced technologies. While culture-based techniques and serological assays remain fundamental, modern innovations such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and CRISPR-based diagnostics have revolutionized pathogen detection.
