Emergency Medical Services: Paramedic-Doctor Protocols in Disaster Management
Main Article Content
Abstract
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) play a crucial role in disaster management by ensuring rapid medical intervention, stabilization, and transportation of casualties. The coordination between paramedics and doctors is essential for optimizing patient outcomes in mass casualty incidents (MCIs). This paper explores the standardized protocols that govern the collaboration between paramedics and doctors in disaster response, emphasizing triage, pre-hospital care, communication strategies, and the integration of advanced life support (ALS) procedures. The study also highlights the challenges faced in disaster scenarios, such as limited resources, communication breakdowns, and the need for real-time decision-making. Through case studies and analysis of existing frameworks, this paper provides insights into improving EMS efficiency and effectiveness during large-scale emergencies.
