Abstract

Reducing wait times in dental clinics is essential for improving patient satisfaction, increasing efficiency, and enhancing overall oral healthcare delivery. A well-coordinated team, including medical administrators, medical information specialists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants, plays a critical role in streamlining operations and minimizing delays. Medical administrators handle scheduling, patient flow, and resource management, while medical information specialists optimize electronic health records (EHRs) and data analytics to improve appointment efficiency. Hygienists manage preventive care, reducing the workload for dentists, and dental assistants support clinical efficiency by preparing patients and assisting in procedures. This article explores the roles of each professional in reducing wait times and highlights strategies to enhance efficiency in dental clinics.
