Abstract

This study explores students' attitudes in the Department of Media at the College of Arts, King Faisal University, regarding the importance of making the Media Arabic Language course a mandatory requirement for graduation. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology to achieve this objective, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary research tool. The questionnaire, designed with 36 items, was used to collect and analyze student perspectives, and expert reviewers in the field verified its validity and reliability. The study sample consisted of 122 male students from the Department of Media at the College of Arts, and the research was conducted during the first semester of the 1446 AH / 2024 AD academic year. The findings confirmed that students hold a positive attitude toward the necessity of making the course a compulsory graduation requirement. After the study, several recommendations were presented, emphasizing the necessity of integrating Arabic language skills into the core graduation requirements for media students. This integration is deemed essential as it contributes positively to shaping well-rounded and competent media professionals, enhancing their cognitive and communicative abilities in the field of journalism and media.
