Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a complex chronic disease that necessitates comprehensive, multidisciplinary management to prevent and address its wide-ranging complications. Integrating diverse healthcare professionals such as ophthalmic technicians, radiology specialists, medical nurses, medical laboratory technicians, dentists, and nutritionists is essential to deliver holistic care tailored to the multifaceted needs of diabetic patients. This collaborative approach enhances early detection of complications like diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, periodontal disease, and cardiovascular risks, while optimizing glycemic control and patient education. This article explores the critical roles each discipline plays in diabetic care, the benefits of their integration, and strategies to foster effective interdisciplinary collaboration for improved patient outcomes.
