Abstract

Infection control is a central pillar of patient safety and healthcare quality. Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) continue to pose serious threats to patients, healthcare workers, and healthcare systems. This paper provides an in-depth exploration of strategies to strengthen infection control practices, with a focus on education, compliance, technological integration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global learning. Drawing upon a wide body of literature and international guidelines, the discussion emphasizes practical approaches, barriers, and opportunities for creating safer healthcare environments. The findings highlight that sustainable infection control requires strong leadership, ongoing staff training, surveillance, and a culture of safety supported by policy and innovation.
