Abstract

Vaccinations have proven to be successful in reducing or eradicating infectious diseases and related mortality. Nevertheless, fatalities and morbidity rates remain high in countries with poor vaccination coverage because of limited access to healthcare and parental attitudes towards vaccination. The objective of this cross-sectional study is to determine the vaccination rates and parental attitudes towards vaccination. The investigation was performed on 402 children aged 12-60 months attending primary healthcare centers. Data were collected using a questionnaire composed of two sections: demographic characteristics and vaccination rates; and parental attitudes towards vaccination. The questionnaire was completed by face-to-face interview with the parents accompanying the child.
