The Role of Epidemiology in the Healthcare System

Abstract
Epidemics have been a constant element of human history, threatening human health and public safety worldwide. Numerous catastrophic consequences would await if a massive epidemic emerged in society. Many efforts have been dedicated to combating epidemics, including public health and epidemiology. Epidemiology has become an essential component of the health system by enabling healthcare organizations to perform effective early detection and response during pandemics and epidemics. This paper focuses on the critical role of epidemiology within the healthcare system, underscoring the necessity of early detection and response strategies against prospective epidemic threats that have the potential to massively threaten human lives.
