Smart Emergency Alert System Using Shake Detection and Location Tracking for Android Devices

Abstract
This paper presents the design and development of a mobile-based emergency alert application aimed at enhancing personal safety through real-time SOS notifications. The proposed Android application enables users to send automated distress messages to pre-registered contacts during emergencies. By utilizing a built-in shake detector, the system triggers an alarm sound and instantly dispatches an SOS message containing the user’s last known GPS location. The application is designed to function efficiently even in low-connectivity environments, ensuring that alerts are sent promptly. Developed using Android Studio, the system integrates voice commands, GPS services, and SMS communication to provide a reliable, user-friendly, and accessible safety solution. This project demonstrates how mobile technology can be leveraged to create cost-effective and lifesaving tools for individuals in distress.
