Abstract

Interdisciplinary dental care has evolved into a comprehensive model that integrates the expertise of dentists, dental assistants, medical nurses, and radiology professionals to ensure safer, more accurate, and patient-centered oral healthcare. As oral health is increasingly recognized as a key component of systemic well-being, coordinated teamwork has become essential in managing both routine and medically complex patients. Dentists lead clinical diagnosis and treatment planning, while dental assistants support procedural efficiency, infection control, and patient comfort. Medical nurses contribute crucial systemic health assessments, vital sign monitoring, emergency preparedness, and medication coordination, strengthening the safety of dental interventions—particularly for high-risk populations.
