Abstract

The integration of network technology into nursing practice has fundamentally transformed how healthcare professionals communicate, coordinate care, and access critical patient information. This review examines the evolution, current applications, challenges, and future directions of networked information systems in nursing. Key areas addressed include electronic health records, clinical decision support systems, telehealth platforms, and interprofessional communication tools. The review also discusses barriers to effective implementation, including technical challenges, workflow disruption, and privacy concerns. Understanding how network technologies facilitate information sharing is essential for optimizing their use in contemporary nursing practice.
