Abstract

Health security is a fundamental component of modern healthcare systems, playing a crucial role in protecting patients, healthcare workers, and institutional assets. Healthcare facilities face a wide range of security threats, including workplace violence, unauthorized access, infectious disease transmission, and cyber threats to sensitive medical data. This study examines the role of health security in enhancing patient and staff safety within healthcare facilities. Using an integrative review of recent scientific literature, the research explores security policies, technological systems, staff training, and emergency preparedness strategies. The findings indicate that comprehensive health security frameworks significantly reduce safety incidents, improve staff confidence, and enhance the overall quality of care. The study concludes that health security should be integrated into healthcare management strategies as a core pillar of patient safety and workforce protection.
