Abstract

Community healthcare focuses on improving the health and well-being of populations through prevention, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation at the community level. The effective functioning of community healthcare systems depends on the coordinated efforts of multiple professionals. Public health specialists plan and implement health programs, epidemiologists analyze disease patterns and risk factors, social workers address social and economic determinants of health, and optometry technicians support eye care services and vision screening. Together, these professionals play a vital role in reducing disease burden, promoting health equity, and improving quality of life within communities. This article elaborates on the collective and individual roles of public health, epidemiology, social workers, and optometry technicians in strengthening community healthcare systems.
