The Impact of Communication between Nursing Staff and Laboratories on Reducing Medical Errors
Main Article Content
Abstract
Effective communication between nursing staff and laboratory personnel represents a critical component in ensuring patient safety and reducing medical errors in healthcare settings. This paper examines the relationship between interdisciplinary communication and error reduction, exploring the mechanisms through which improved communication protocols can minimize diagnostic errors, specimen handling mistakes, and result interpretation issues. Through analysis of current literature and evidence-based practices, this paper demonstrates that structured communication systems, standardized protocols, and collaborative relationships between nurses and laboratory technicians significantly decrease the incidence of preventable medical errors while improving patient outcomes.
