Abstract

With advancement of active distribution network construction, micro multi-function phasor measurement units (μMPMUs) are gradually applied to distribution network. Existing synchronous phasor transmission protocols need to extend for communication needs of active distribution networks. The method is based on existing GB/T 26865.2-2011 communication protocol, and an application extension frame is added by referencing the application service data unit(ASDU) of IEC 60870-5-101/104. Extended frames are applied to transmit two remote data and partial commands. The phasor and the analog quantity required to synchronize the time section are transmitted at high speed through data pipeline. The switching quantities and the analog quantities not requiring time section synchronization are transmitted through command pipeline. A total summoning and remote control process is added. Finally, effectiveness and feasibility of the extension method are verified with communication analysis and method implementation. The method effectively expands μMPMU remote control function, reduces the amount of data for network communication and storage, and has certain practical value for promotion of μMPMU in distribution network.
