Abstract

With advancement of low-carbon power grid in China, percentage of natural gas in primary energy consuming increases, supporting wind-gas coordinating generation technology promotion in wind power consumption. This paper proposes a capacity planning and relevant control strategy for the coordinating generation system considering voltage stability. The capacity planning optimizes setup capacity of gas turbines and the strategy controls gas turbines and reactive power compensation devices considering voltage stability. It makes the coordinating generation system participate in peak load shifting, maintain voltage stable and reduce generating cost of the system. Its validity is verified with a New England 10- machine 39-buse case study.
