Abstract

Today, one of the most important problems is increasing water pollutant due to various reasons such as the uncontrolled sources from agriculture ,domestic and industry. The toxic effect of heavy metals and some anionic pollutions in the water environment have become a public concern. The chromium (Cr) exists in three valence states Cr (III) and Cr(VI) in the wastewater widely used in various industries . Although, the Cr(III) is an essential element for the living beings, but the Cr(VI) exhibits high toxicity. Literature review show produce severe health problems, such as genetic defects, liver damage and cancer [1]. The acceptable level of chromium in drinking water according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards is 0.05 mg/L for Cr (VI) and 0.1 mg/L for total Cr [2].
