Iot Enabled Automated Window Blinds for Enhanced Home Security
Main Article Content
Abstract
Home automation and security are only two of the many facets of our everyday life that have been transformed by the incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. In this project, we provide a novel way to improve home security by installing automated window blinds that are enabled by the Internet of Things[1]. With additional features for intruder detection and climate monitoring, the system uses an Arduino microcontroller in conjunction with a variety of sensors and actuators to enable intelligent control over window blinds. The system has sophisticated security measures that go beyond simple climate monitoring. To maintain a comfortable indoor environment, an AC unit is automatically triggered via a relay when the temperature rises beyond a predetermined threshold (e.g., 30 degrees Celsius). Additionally, the IR sensor senses a person approaching the window, which causes the window to automatically close.[4]
