Abstract

As fossil fuels are decaying fast there is an increased demand for renewable energy sources of electrical energy during recent years. Among various renewable energy sources solar energy plays a vital role where it can be used for solar water heaters, solar powered street lights and to drive single phase Induction Motor using single phase Inverter circuit. The proposed work is used to develop a single phase Induction Motor driven by multistage of power conversion circuit .The first stage is DC to DC converter which converts fixed DC to variable DC by Maximum Power Point Tracking. The voltage source inverter is the second stage with open loop sub synchronous speed control method to achieve high performance during various operating speeds. For the inverter switches a pulse width modulation strategy is applied and its output voltage is controlled by voltage frequency (V/F) method. The single phase Induction Motor speed torque characteristics are determined by using developed with Sim -20 Bond Graph models
