Abstract

This article presents a systematic review of the literature on technology adoption by microentrepreneurs between 2018 and 2023, with the aim of identifying the main trends and challenges related to digital transformation in this sector. Through a comprehensive analysis of high-impact scientific articles selected from the Scopus database, nine key trends were identified that outline the characteristics, advantages, and obstacles associated with the implementation of emerging technologies in microenterprises. The study reveals that the use of technological tools such as e-commerce and cloud computing has enabled microentrepreneurs to improve their operational efficiency and adapt to an increasingly globalized business environment. Additionally, it was found that Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is the most commonly used methodological tool in research on this topic, with a predominance of quantitative studies. This analysis provides a solid foundation for understanding the dynamics of technology adoption in microenterprises, highlighting the implications for future research and business strategies.
